In 1983, when 24-year-old Patricia Clarke became pregnant, she had a strong feeling that her unborn child would be large. Coming from a family with a history of big babies, Patricia was somewhat prepared, but the size of the baby she was carrying was still a surprise.
Kevin Robert Clark was born weighing over 16 pounds, making him the largest baby ever born at Community Memorial Hospital and possibly in all of New Jersey at the time. Despite his enormous size, Kevin was perfectly healthy, although he couldn’t fit into a standard-sized cot and his baby clothes were too small.
Kevin’s impressive stature was immediately noticeable. His national fame soared after appearances on “Saturday Night Live” and “Good Morning America,” among other shows.
Kevin’s journey in the spotlight didn’t end there. By the age of 12, he was already 5 feet 7 inches tall, according to the New York Post. Entering junior high, he had grown to a height of 6 feet 5 inches, and he continued to grow.
