At just five years old, little Ryder Wells has faced more challenges than many people experience in a lifetime.
The young boy from North Carolina survived a brutal attack by two rottweilers while visiting family for Thanksgiving in 2015. He was only 21 months old when the dogs attacked, leaving him with severe injuries: he lost half of his face, had crushed teeth, a broken arm, and a punctured lung. Doctors feared he might not survive.
Against all odds, Ryder fought through the trauma. Since the attack, he has undergone around 50 surgeries, each one a step toward rebuilding his life.
