Heartfelt Letter from Young Foster Child Reminds Us Not to Take the Basics for Granted
A young boy from Oklahoma, after facing difficult circumstances early in life, was welcomed into a new, loving home through the help of Dreamcatchers for Abused Children, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and protecting vulnerable children. Their mission is to raise awareness and provide essential resources for children who have experienced neglect or abuse.
Before settling into his new home, the boy handed his adoptive family a letter. What he had written moved many people to tears—not because of dramatic words, but because of the simplicity and sincerity of his wishes.
After spending years in an unstable environment, the child created a list of things he hoped to have in his new family. The items on his list weren’t extravagant or out of reach—instead, they reflected basic needs and a desire for stability, care, and kindness.
