A Spanish family’s once-in-a-lifetime helicopter tour over New York City ended in devastation when their aircraft vanished from radar and plunged into the Hudson River—just minutes after the pilot calmly reported low fuel.
Aboard the helicopter were Agustin Escobar, a Siemens executive, his wife Merce Camprubi Montal, and their three young children, aged 4, 5, and 11. It was meant to be a joyful family outing—one final adventure during their visit from Barcelona. Instead, it became an unspeakable tragedy.
