In a recent interview on Fox News, former Secret Service agent and current FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino strongly criticized Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, calling attention to what he described as a pattern of misleading claims related to the now-disputed allegations of Russian collusion involving former President Donald Trump.
Bongino, who has served in both the NYPD and the United States Secret Service, where he protected Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, has become known for his direct commentary on matters of national security and politics. During the February 23, 2025 appearance, he addressed what he characterized as ongoing concerns about transparency and accountability in public service.
“The main person responsible for pushing this narrative has been Adam Schiff,” Bongino said. “For over a year, he made statements that didn’t hold up to scrutiny, and many of those claims have since been challenged or fully debunked by investigations.”
Schiff, who served as the House Intelligence Committee Chairman during the height of the Russia investigation, had long been one of the most vocal proponents of the collusion theory. Critics argue that many of his assertions—delivered in interviews, press conferences, and committee hearings—led the public to believe there was conclusive evidence, even though multiple reports, including that of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, did not establish such collusion.
