Andy Ternay visited the First Watch café in Richardson, Texas, with his partner for a meal, but their visit took an unexpected turn. After placing their order, Ternay was approached by a restaurant manager and asked to leave due to the wording on his T-shirt, which upset other customers.

Ternay later shared the incident on Facebook, explaining that the manager informed him several customers were concerned that children might see the language on his shirt. He responded by expressing sympathy and noted the challenges of explaining certain controversial topics to his own child.

He mentioned that one table applauded as they exited. Outside in the parking lot, a server, who had resigned over the incident, approached him and shared concerns about the restaurant’s environment, mentioning discriminatory behavior from some customers.
