That’s why every corner of the kitchen, including those often-overlooked cupboards above the refrigerator, deserves thoughtful attention.
These high cabinets are often dismissed as impractical, but with a little planning, they can become a highly functional part of your kitchen. From small appliances to pantry overflow, these hidden shelves can help maximize storage in a way that feels both purposeful and organized.
Growing up, I learned a lot about home organization from my mother. She made the most of every inch in the kitchen, and the cupboards above the fridge were no exception. She used them to store appliances that weren’t needed every day—things like a holiday-use food processor or a weekend-only blender.
