Targeting Tesla Dealerships

The FBI has launched a national investigation into a recent series of incidents targeting Tesla dealerships, service centers, and a concerning rise in swatting events—false emergency calls that trigger law enforcement responses to unsuspecting locations.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino confirmed the active investigation, emphasizing the bureau’s commitment to public safety and transparency. “These incidents are serious, and we’re treating them as such,” Bongino stated. “Our teams are committed to protecting American communities and ensuring swift accountability.”

Swatting, a growing form of digital harassment, has increasingly been directed at Tesla facilities. Authorities warn that these hoaxes can pose serious risks, placing both law enforcement and civilians in potentially dangerous situations.

One of the most serious recent events took place at a Tesla collision center in Las Vegas, where local police responded to reports of multiple vehicles being damaged. The building was vandalized with spray-painted graffiti, and officials discovered incendiary devices, including one found inside a vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the scene was secured without further incident.

Similar reports have surfaced in other states. In Kansas City, investigators are looking into damage sustained by several Tesla Cybertrucks at a local dealership. Federal and local law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), are coordinating on the case. Though some online speculation has connected the incidents under the label “#TeslaTakedown,” authorities have not confirmed any organized network behind the acts.
