The ambulance was on its way back to the hospital after a busy day. Rain clouds lingered in the sky, and emergency calls had come in one after another. As the vehicle approached a quiet stretch of road, the driver slowed down.
A large dog was sitting in the middle of the road.
She didn’t seem frightened. Instead, she sat calmly, as if waiting for them. The driver honked the horn, but the dog didn’t move. The paramedics, seasoned professionals, had seen many things—but this was something new.
One paramedic got out to gently guide the dog away. She moved to the roadside but didn’t leave. As soon as he stepped back into the ambulance, she returned to the same spot.
Curious, the paramedic approached again, and this time, the dog turned and walked toward the bushes, pausing now and then to look back.
Following her lead, the paramedic soon spotted an elderly man lying nearby. He was conscious but very weak and in clear need of help.
The medical team quickly assisted him and transported him to the hospital. The dog followed closely behind, never leaving sight of the ambulance. Her presence touched everyone who saw it.
