Back-to-Back Highway Crashes Near Huehuetoca and Soyaniquilpan Raise Safety Concerns

A devastating multi-vehicle accident rocked the Mexico-Querétaro Highway near Huehuetoca on November 20, when a speeding trailer lost control and triggered a violent chain reaction. The trailer, traveling toward Mexico City, reportedly failed to brake in time as it approached the Jorobas intersection. It collided with a roadside bank before crashing into five cars and a pickup truck, ultimately coming to rest across all three northbound lanes.

The accident caused a partial shutdown of the highway, resulting in heavy traffic congestion in both directions.

Initial reports suggest that slick road conditions from earlier rainfall may have contributed to the trailer’s inability to stop. However, a full investigation is still underway to determine the exact cause.
