Elon Musk Sparks Controversy by Claiming Trump Is Named in Sealed Epstein Files

Elon Musk has reignited a firestorm of public interest in the Jeffrey Epstein case with a bold claim about former President Donald Trump. In a brief post on his platform X (formerly Twitter), Musk wrote:
“Time to drop the big bombshell: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. This is the real reason why they haven’t been made public. Have a good time.”

The post—delivered without supporting evidence—has since gone viral, triggering waves of speculation, political backlash, and renewed scrutiny of the still-sealed Epstein documents.

The “Epstein files” refer to a collection of court records, depositions, flight logs, and personal notes tied to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier who was arrested in 2019 on federal charges of sex trafficking involving minors. Epstein died in jail under controversial circumstances, and though some of the documents tied to his case have been made public, a significant portion remains sealed.
