Tensions between the United States and Iran escalated significantly over the weekend following a U.S.-led airstrike targeting three of Iran’s nuclear facilities. The action followed days of heightened military activity in the region, including exchanges between Iran and Israel.
In a nationally televised address, President Donald Trump confirmed the strikes, stating that the U.S. military conducted “precision operations” on three sites: Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. According to the President, the objective was to significantly limit Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities and address what he called a growing international threat.
“Our goal is the complete dismantling of Iran’s ability to enrich uranium for weapons,” President Trump said. “This was a necessary measure to ensure global security.”
The President also emphasized the cooperation between the United States and Israel, calling their collaboration “historic.”
Following the operation, President Trump issued a public warning that any retaliatory measures from Iran would be met with further defensive actions. “The United States will respond strongly to any attempt at escalation,” he said.
