President Trump has signed nearly 200 executive orders so far this year, including a recent move to extend reciprocal tariff agreements with all major U.S. trading partners—with the exception of China. The administration has said the goal is to support the domestic economy and promote fairer trade relationships.
However, a new poll conducted by the Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research indicates that public response to these efforts is divided. According to the survey released on July 17, 49% of Americans believe the president’s economic policies have caused more harm than good, while 25% report having personally benefited from them.
A separate poll conducted earlier this month showed 52% of respondents expressing disapproval of President Trump’s overall job performance, suggesting that skepticism about the administration’s direction may be growing as the 2026 election cycle begins to take shape.
