For decades, Simon Cowell has been one of the most recognizable figures in the entertainment world. His sharp critiques and commanding presence on talent shows made him both admired and feared. But behind the tough exterior lies a more personal story—one marked by setbacks, resilience, and above all, his devotion to his young son, Eric.
In recent years, Simon faced two frightening accidents that changed his perspective on life. The first came in 2020, when an e-bike crash in Malibu left him with severe injuries, including a broken back that required lengthy surgery and metal rods for support. Just as he was recovering, another crash followed in London in 2022, leaving him with a broken arm and concussion. Though less severe than the first, it added to his physical challenges and forced him to confront his own vulnerability.
Appearing on the Today Show with his America’s Got Talent co-judges, Simon spoke candidly about the toll these moments had taken. Before the accidents, he admitted, his physical and mental health had been far from ideal. The crashes, though devastating, became a turning point. “It was a revelation, a godly moment,” he explained. For the first time in his life, he even considered therapy as a way to process what he was going through.
