Zelenskyy’s “epic” comeback to reporter who slammed him for not wearing suit

The world’s attention turned to Washington yesterday as Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy made his second visit this year to the White House for talks with U.S. president Donald Trump.

The first meeting, held earlier this year, had been tense and widely covered in the press. At that time, sharp exchanges between Zelenskyy, Trump, and several others in the room created an atmosphere that highlighted division rather than unity.

Zelenskyy, who continues to seek international support in Ukraine’s fight against Russia’s 2022 invasion, arrived this time in a more formal manner. Unlike his February appearance in military fatigues, he chose a traditional suit for the occasion, signaling a shift in tone for the meeting.

Among those present again was American reporter Brian Glenn, who in February had questioned Zelenskyy’s choice of attire. This time, however, Glenn not only complimented Zelenskyy’s look but also apologized for his earlier comments. That set the stage for a moment that quickly went viral.

With a smile, Zelenskyy replied: “You’re wearing the same suit. I’ve changed, you have not.”
