Movies like Saturday Night Fever (1977) were huge box office successes, catapulting John Travolta to international stardom. He gained even more fame after starring in Grease.
Born in 1954 in Englewood, New Jersey, John was the youngest of six children. He dropped out of high school to pursue acting, a dream he had harbored since childhood. Despite the risks, this decision proved to be the best he could have made.
Over the years, John has starred in numerous films, including Two of a Kind (1983), Pulp Fiction (1994), Get Shorty (1995) for which he won a Golden Globe, Broken Arrow (1996), Wild Hogs (2007), and Gotti (2018), among others.
In 1991, John married actress Kelly Preston. Although Kelly was married when they met, she later revealed in 2018 that she was unhappy in her previous marriage and felt she wasn’t with the right person. Tragically, Kelly passed away from breast cancer in July 2020, after nearly 30 years of marriage.
The couple had three children: Jett, born on April 13, 1992, Ella Bleu, born in 2000, and Benjamin, born in 2010. Sadly, Jett passed away in 2009 due to seizures related to autism. John’s grief was profound, but he found the strength to focus on his other two children.
