The longtime Democratic leader was in Europe as part of a bipartisan congressional delegation commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge — a key World War II event that symbolizes cooperation and sacrifice between the U.S. and its European allies.
Pelosi’s spokesman, Ian Krager, confirmed that she “sustained an injury during an official engagement and is currently receiving excellent medical care from doctors and specialists in Luxembourg.” While details remain limited, several officials familiar with the incident told reporters that Pelosi tripped and fell during a ceremony on Monday, possibly injuring her hip or leg.
Witnesses described the fall as sudden but not dramatic. “She was walking near the memorial area and seemed to lose her footing,” one attendee said. “She was helped up immediately by security and medical staff on site.”
