Trump mocked as Dozy Don after photo – White House issues scathing response

The Trump White House found itself on the defensive this week after a viral clip showed President Donald Trump seemingly nodding off during an Oval Office briefing — a moment the internet instantly christened “Dozy Don.” The video, which spread across X and TikTok in hours, captured Trump leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed as Dr. Mehmet Oz, head of Medicare services, discussed a major initiative to slash prices on GLP-1 weight loss drugs. For a few seconds, the president appeared motionless, his chin dipping as cameras rolled.

Within moments, the memes exploded. California Governor Gavin Newsom quickly joined the mockery, reposting the clip with the caption, “DOZY DON IS BACK,” and releasing a collage of Trump appearing to doze off at past events, calling it The Nodfather Collection. The White House fired back with an unusually aggressive statement, dismissing the footage as “garbage.” “The President was not sleeping,” it read. “He was fully engaged with Dr. Oz and later answered questions from the press. This announcement marks a historic reduction in the cost of two life-saving drugs for Americans battling diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.”
