On January 20, 2024, Ronni Lily, 29, and her partner Brad welcomed their baby boy in Birmingham, England. From the start, the couple agreed they wanted a name that stood out—something bold and memorable.
The inspiration came during Ronni’s pregnancy while watching a popular Netflix series. One conversation led to another, and soon the couple felt certain the name fit perfectly.
What they didn’t expect was the reaction.
Backlash begins immediately
Although the name is legal in the U.K., Ronni told Metro that criticism began almost as soon as they shared it, especially online. Strangers labeled the choice “cruel,” “shocking,” and even “illegal,” despite that not being the case where they live.
