The family of Renee Good has released the results of an independent autopsy following her death, marking a major development in a case that has drawn national attention and ongoing public scrutiny.
Good, a 37-year-old mother, was fatally shot on January 7 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by ICE officer Jonathan Ross, shortly after she had dropped off her six-year-old child at school. In response, her family launched a private investigation and retained outside legal counsel to conduct an independent medical and legal review.
Incident Sparked Protests and National Debate
The shooting quickly became the subject of intense public reaction, including protests across Minneapolis and widespread discussion online. Initial statements from the Department of Homeland Security alleged that Good attempted to use her vehicle to endanger federal officers, labeling her actions as a serious threat.

Autopsy Details Released

According to the pathologist’s report, three distinct gunshot wound trajectories were identified:
- One bullet struck Good’s left forearm
- A second entered her right breast
- A third struck the left side of her head
The head wound was determined to be fatal, with the bullet passing through and exiting the right side of her skull.
The family requested the release of the preliminary findings in the interest of public transparency.

Romanucci and Blandin—the same firm that represented the family of George Floyd—said the evidence collected so far supports continued legal action and further investigation.
Lead attorney Antonio M. Romanucci stated that video evidence from the incident is central to their case when evaluated under established standards of reasonable law enforcement conduct.
