Have we ever stopped to consider the idea that what we put out into the world often comes back to us? Sometimes, we act without fully realizing the impact our actions have on others. Fortunately, life has a way of teaching us to be more mindful and considerate.

After the loss of his father, a man decided he could no longer care for his mother, so he made the difficult choice to move her to a nursing home. Unfortunately, she was unhappy there, and he only visited occasionally.

One day, he received a call informing him that his mother’s health had taken a turn for the worse. She seemed to be in her final days.

Rushing to the nursing home, he went straight to his mother’s room and asked if there was anything he could do for her.

Looking him in the eye, she made a few requests. Moved by her words, he promised to fulfill her final wishes.

She asked for the fans to be changed because they didn’t work properly, and she used to feel suffocated at times. “If you could change the refrigerator too… There were days when I fell asleep hungry because the food had expired…” she added.

Surprised, the son realized his mother was aware of her condition. He asked why she hadn’t told him about these issues earlier. Now it was too late.

Looking at him, she said, “I know I am dying, but I think of you when your children won’t want you around either… And they will bring you here… Then, you will find better conditions… What you offer is what you get… Don’t forget that.”

These words shattered the son’s heart. He regretted leaving his mother in the nursing home against her wishes.
