Trump Responds After U.S.-Iran Military Strikes and American Casualties
President Donald Trump issued a forceful public statement yesterday following U.S. and allied military operations in Iran that have already resulted in the deaths of American service members.
After months of rising tensions, the White House announced that the U.S. and Israel launched a coordinated military campaign dubbed Operation Epic Fury. Officials say the strikes are aimed at disrupting parts of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and ballistic missile systems, though analysts warn that the fallout could be widespread.
In defending the decision, White House spokespeople emphasized that the action came after what they described as “exhaustive diplomatic efforts” and years of adversarial behavior from Iran, including numerous incidents involving U.S. personnel, support for militant groups abroad, and internal repression.
Over the weekend, President Trump also claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed in the initial phase of the operation.
