In a childhood photograph, she looks like any other young girl — smiling, gap-toothed, and full of promise. There is nothing unusual in the image. No hint of what the future would hold.
Years later, she became a registered nurse working in a neonatal unit, caring for some of the most vulnerable patients imaginable: premature and critically ill newborns. Parents placed their trust in her during the most emotional and fragile moments of their lives.
For a time, she appeared dedicated and professional. Colleagues described her as committed to her work. She had completed her nursing studies, built a career in a respected hospital, and seemed to be living an ordinary life.
But between 2015 and 2016, hospital staff began to notice troubling patterns. A number of babies experienced sudden and unexplained medical emergencies. While neonatal units can sadly face difficult outcomes due to the fragility of patients, the frequency of incidents raised serious concerns among senior clinicians.
