In a compelling interview with Human Events’s Jack Posobiec, Michael Cassidy, a dedicated Christian veteran who recently removed a controversial statue from the Iowa State Capitol, urged Americans to reconsider their cultural values.
Cassidy’s call to action stems from his concern over the responses he has received. While he encountered supportive messages from those who appreciate his stance, he also received negative feedback from individuals with differing views.
Addressing this mixed response, Cassidy shared, “I’ve received both positive and negative feedback. Some voices have applauded my firm stance, recognizing the moral questions in our society. That, in itself, has been heartening.”
However, Cassidy also revealed the challenges he has faced. He mentioned receiving a significant amount of critical messages from individuals who disagreed with his actions.
Highlighting one example, Cassidy recounted a message from a father in Iowa who was disappointed that the statue was no longer there. Cassidy shared, “I received a message from a father who had planned to show his daughter the statue that day.”
