In North Georgia, the Toccoa Riverside Restaurant recently stirred controversy over claims of fining customers for “poor parenting” when their children misbehaved.
A Reddit user alleged that the restaurant’s owner added a $50 charge to their bill due to their children’s behavior, sparking an online debate.
Owner Tim Richter responded by clarifying that while a COVID-19 surcharge was in place, no fines for bad behavior had been enforced recently.
He mentioned that he had once warned a family about their children’s unruly behavior but did not impose any additional charges.
