While on the Beach with My Husband, a Woman Ran Up, Knelt, and Said His Name…

As John and I basked in the joy of our anniversary on a sunlit beach, a woman in a swimsuit suddenly rushed over, dropped to her knees, and called his name. My heart skipped a beat. Who was she, and what could she possibly want with my husband? Little did I know, this moment would change everything.

“John! Don’t leave me… John!” I cried out, waking with a start from a nightmare. My heart raced as I realized I was alone in bed—it had all been a dream. A vision of John leaving me in a tropical paradise still haunted me as the morning light streamed through the curtains.

“Rosa? You okay?” John’s voice echoed from the hallway. Concern etched his face as he entered the room.

I exhaled in relief. “Yeah, just a bad dream. What time is it?”

“Almost 9. I made coffee,” he said with a smile. “And… happy anniversary, sweetheart.”

It suddenly hit me—it was our 10th wedding anniversary! I jumped out of bed and hugged him tight. “Happy anniversary, John! I can’t believe it’s been ten years.”

John’s eyes twinkled as he pulled out a surprise. “Close your eyes and hold out your hands.”

When I opened them, I was holding two plane tickets. “The Dominican Republic? Are you serious?” I gasped.

John grinned. “We leave in three hours.”

I squealed, showering him with kisses. “I can’t believe you planned this!”

As I hastily packed, I felt a twinge of guilt. John had been so busy with work lately, and this trip was the perfect chance to reconnect.

The flight was filled with excitement, and upon arrival, the tropical breeze wrapped around us like a warm embrace. As we drove along the coast to our resort, the turquoise waters and swaying palm trees made everything feel like a dream.

“How long have you been planning this?” I asked, amazed at how he had kept such a big surprise.

John smiled. “It wasn’t easy with all those late nights at the office.”

I felt another pang of guilt. “I’m sorry I’ve been so wrapped up in my own world. I know work’s been demanding.”

He gently reassured me, “That’s why we’re here—no work, no distractions. Just us.”

Our resort was breathtaking, with a private balcony overlooking the ocean. It felt like paradise.

John wrapped his arms around me. “What do you think? Was it worth the wait?”

“It’s perfect,” I whispered. “You’re perfect.”

The next few days were magical—relaxing on the beach, sipping coconuts, and dancing under the stars. On the third evening, as we watched the sunset paint the sky in vibrant colors, I rested my head on John’s chest, feeling completely content.
