A greedy brother inherits a house and mocks his younger sister, who only receives five rusty clocks from their grandmother. Little did they know what secrets were hidden inside.
“Oh, so Grandma called you too? I thought you’d be busy in the library, being a good little bookworm!” 26-year-old Brian sneered at his 19-year-old sister, Linda, as she stepped out of a taxi. Fear gripped Linda’s heart as she reassured herself that nothing would happen to Grandma, who had asked them to visit her urgently.
When they arrived, Brian entered their 90-year-old grandmother Marlene’s room, coughing and smirking. “I’m allergic to dust! Grandma, didn’t you clean your room?” he mocked. Despite seeing her frail and sick, he showed no concern and waited impatiently for her to speak. Marlene, weak and pale, held Linda’s trembling hands, her eyes no longer sparkling as they once did. Smiling gently, she handed them two envelopes.
“This is for you,” Marlene said softly. Inside, each found $5,000. Linda burst into tears and ran outside, overwhelmed. Brian, however, frowned and scoffed. “That’s it? I thought you had more. Whatever, I’m out.” He left without a word of thanks.
