My Husband Refused to Take Photos of Me on Our Vacation, His Reason Shocked Me, but My Revenge Left Him in Tears

I’m a 38-year-old mom of two amazing kids, aged seven and five, and I’ve been married to my husband, Luke, for almost ten years. We’ve had ups and downs like any couple, but something happened on our recent trip to Mexico that changed everything.

Imagine this: beautiful Mexico, endless beaches, perfect weather. I’d planned every detail, hoping for a chance to relax and reconnect. But from the start, Luke seemed… distant. Whenever I asked him to take a photo of us, he’d brush it off with, “Not now, maybe later.”

At first, I figured he was just tired, but his reluctance continued. One evening, I wore a dress I’d bought just for the trip, feeling confident after having two kids. I asked him, “Can you take a picture of me with the sunset?”

His response? “Not now, Hannah.” It hurt. I tried to shake it off, but then I noticed him acting secretive with his phone, taking it everywhere—even the bathroom. My gut told me something was off, but I pushed the feeling aside.

One afternoon, while he was in the shower, his phone lay on the bed, and I couldn’t ignore my suspicion anymore. I opened his recent messages, and my heart sank. In a group chat, he’d written: “Imagine, guys, at her weight, she still wants me to take pictures! Where would she even fit in the photo?”

I was crushed. The man I loved was ridiculing me to his friends. I put the phone down, feeling a wave of betrayal, sadness, and humiliation. I’d thought we were a team, that he loved me for who I was.

After the initial shock, anger took over. I posted some vacation photos I’d taken myself with a simple caption: “Looking for a new vacation partner. Am I really so unattractive that even my husband won’t take pictures of me?” Supportive comments poured in, bringing me some comfort.
