Nick and I promised Sophia a special prize from Target after a month of successful potty training. Naturally, she chose a doll—her current obsession.

At checkout, the cashier asked if Sophia was buying the doll for a friend’s birthday. Confused, we explained it was a reward for her milestone.

The cashier then asked Sophia if this was truly the doll she wanted, adding, “She doesn’t look like you. We have others that do.”
