This Deaf Cashier Took Orders with a Smile—and the Customers’ Response Was Even More Heartwarming

At nearly 1 a.m., my boyfriend and I, starving, decided to stop at Whataburger. The drive-thru line was too long, so I headed inside, only to find a slow-moving line there as well. Curious, I noticed the cashier, a young man, interacting with a couple ahead of me.

When the girl placed her order, the cashier smiled and softly said, “I am deaf. Can you please talk slower?” The girl immediately lit up and adjusted her speech. When he still had trouble, he grabbed a pen and paper, and the couple gladly wrote down their order, showing nothing but kindness and patience.
