A tragic accident claimed the life of 29-year-old Wisconsin farmer Michael Biadasz and 16 of his cattle when toxic gases formed a “deadly dome of air” over a manure tank on his family farm in Amherst.
According to reports, Michael died from gas poisoning caused by toxic vapors, including sulfur oxide and methane. Thirteen cattle died immediately, with three more succumbing later.
Michael’s father, Bob Biadasz, explained that unusual weather conditions created a “perfect storm.” Warm air trapped the gases above the tank, forming a concentrated, hazardous dome as it was being prepared for pumping. When workers arrived, they found Michael unresponsive.
