Georgia Judge Rules in Favor of Judicial Watch in Open Records Lawsuit
A Georgia judge has ruled in favor of the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch in its lawsuit against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
The lawsuit sought access to communications between Willis’ office, Special Counsel Jack Smith, and the House January 6 Committee under Georgia’s open records laws.
Judge Robert McBurney issued a default judgment after Willis’ office did not respond promptly to Judicial Watch’s request. The ruling requires Willis to produce the requested documents within five business days, bringing additional attention to her office’s compliance with transparency laws.
