Life has a way of testing us in unexpected ways. When my stepmother attempted to claim the wedding dress my late mother had left for me, it was a moment I couldn’t ignore. Some things are sacred—some things simply aren’t meant to be taken.
My mother passed away when I was thirteen. One day, she was there—laughing, baking blueberry pies, and reminding me to tie my shoes. The next, my world changed forever.
