A Heartfelt Blanket Crafted From My Mom’s Sweaters

A Handwoven Gift: Preserving a Mother’s Memory Through Love
Life After Loss

After my mother passed away during the birth of my younger brother, Andrew, our home changed in ways that were impossible to ignore. The house that once felt bright and full of energy became quiet and still. Her warmth, her laughter, and her everyday presence had filled every corner of our lives.

Creating Something with Purpose

Using the yarn, I began knitting a blanket for Andrew. The goal was simple: to create something warm and comforting that would remain with him as he grew. It would be more than just a blanket—it would carry history, love, and intention.

The process took time. There were moments when I made mistakes and had to start again. But with patience and focus, the project slowly came together.
