After his father’s death, a man made the difficult decision to place his aging mother in a nursing home, believing it was the best option. She was unhappy there, and his visits grew sparse and brief.
One day, the nursing home called with heartbreaking news—his mother’s health had rapidly declined. She was nearing the end.
Hurrying to her side, the son asked if there was anything he could do to make her more comfortable. With a steady gaze, she asked for a few things. Eager to help, he promised to fulfill her wishes.
She began quietly, “The fans in my room don’t work well, and some nights I struggled to breathe. If you could replace the refrigerator… sometimes the food spoiled, and I went hungry.”
