In a statement, her family shared:
“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend. Her smile lit up every room, and her passion for life touched people everywhere. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth and spirit live on in the many lives she inspired.”
Born in Cazenovia in 1969, Burrell developed a love of cooking early in life, influenced by her mother’s home-cooked meals and the legendary Julia Child. She went on to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America and worked in prestigious kitchens before transitioning to television, where she quickly became a fan favorite.
Anne was known not only for her culinary talent but also for her ability to connect with audiences. She believed in making mistakes, learning from them, and always having fun in the kitchen. “Find a recipe, read it from beginning to end, and make it your own,” she often advised beginner cooks.
Over the years, she authored popular cookbooks, mentored aspiring chefs, and brought laughter and encouragement into millions of homes. Her down-to-earth advice and vibrant on-screen presence made her a role model for many.
Anne and Stuart built a life together in Brooklyn, embracing both the joys of marriage and the adventures of everyday life. She often shared their journey on social media, including glimpses of holidays, cooking experiments, and their beautifully renovated home.
As tributes continue to pour in, fans and fellow chefs remember her not just for her cooking skills, but for the joy and authenticity she brought to everything she did. Her legacy will endure in the meals prepared by those she inspired and in the hearts of those who admired her.
Rest in peace, Anne Burrell. Your kindness, creativity, and passion will never be forgotten.
