Now at 91, Burnett continues to captivate audiences with her role in the Apple TV+ series Palm Royale, a drama set in 1969 Palm Beach, Florida. Born on April 26, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, Burnett was raised by her grandmother due to her parents’ struggles with alcoholism.
In the 1940s, the family moved to Hollywood, where Burnett pursued her passion for theatre at the University of Southern California. Her big break came in 1957 on The Ed Sullivan Show, where her comedic spoof of young women’s adoration for Elvis Presley made her an overnight sensation.
