In early May 2024, Facebook and other social media platforms exploded with a bizarre claim — that Steve Harvey had been fired from Family Feud after an awkward on-air conversation with Oprah Winfrey.
Paid Facebook ads and viral posts carried headlines like “Tensions Erupt After His On-Air Slip-Up” and “Steve Harvey Abruptly Fired From Family Feud.”
Each post looked convincing, featuring pictures of Harvey and Oprah, fake news quotes, and even a counterfeit CNN link.
To the average reader, it looked like a real scandal. But the truth? It was 100% fake.
The Fake Story Behind the Rumor
The lie began with a website called pastadibern.pro, which published a fake article disguised to look like a CNN report.
Its headline read:
“Steve Harvey Fired from Family Feud After Shocking On-Air Confession to Oprah Winfrey.”
The article claimed Harvey was fired after discussing erectile dysfunction (ED) on Oprah’s show and promoting a product called Canna Labs CBD Gummies as his “solution.”
Of course, none of this ever happened.
There was no interview, no product endorsement, and no firing.
The so-called CNN article was just a scam hosted on a shady, unrelated domain.
