“That’s enough, Mark!” she snapped, using my name instead of “Dad.” “If you contact me again, you’ll regret it.” Then, she hung up.
I was stunned. Hearing her call me by my name instead of “Dad” was a blow I wasn’t ready for. As a parent, there’s nothing more painful than watching your child push you away, convinced that your love is insincere.
