Amber and Jeff Wilson, along with their 12-year-old son Shiloh, had traveled from Kingwood to Kerrville to attend a youth rodeo event. It was meant to be a special family getaway—one centered on celebrating Shiloh’s participation at the local expo center. The family planned to stay overnight near the Guadalupe River in their truck camper.
However, the weekend took a tragic turn when rising river levels led to a flash flood. After the family lost contact, Amber’s brother, John Dustin Ledford, issued a public call for help on social media. His heartfelt post included a photo of the family and quickly spread across platforms, prompting widespread concern and assistance from the public.
