Donald Trump Returned to Hospital for More Heart Tests 3 Months After Diagnosis, Physician Reveals

Former U.S. President Donald Trump, 79, returned to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on October 10, 2025, for scheduled cardiovascular evaluations — part of his ongoing preventive health care routine. According to White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella, the visit was “completely routine” and not an emergency admission.

Dr. Barbabella explained that the former president underwent a series of advanced heart screenings, laboratory tests, and imaging procedures. “President Trump’s results were excellent,” he said, noting that his cardiovascular health is “comparable to that of a healthy 65-year-old.”

The doctor also confirmed that Trump remains in strong physical and cognitive condition, maintaining what he called “an active and demanding daily schedule without restrictions.” During the visit, Trump also received his seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations.

Follow-Up on a Previous Diagnosis

This latest checkup followed a July 2025 evaluation that revealed mild swelling in Trump’s legs, leading to a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency — a common circulatory condition in older adults. The issue, while uncomfortable, is not life-threatening when treated.

Dr. Barbabella emphasized that the condition is “well controlled” and that Trump’s overall health remains “excellent.” His care plan reportedly includes light exercise, the use of compression therapy, and periodic follow-up visits — all standard practices for managing circulation and preventing complications.
