The Jeffrey Epstein saga is back in the spotlight, and this time, newly released emails have thrown former President Donald Trump into the center of renewed scrutiny. House Democrats unveiled correspondence between Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and journalist Michael Wolff, raising questions about the extent of Trump’s connections to Epstein.
One email from 2019 is drawing particular attention. In it, Epstein claimed Trump “knew about the girls,” sparking immediate debate over what that meant. Another, from 2011, referenced Trump as “the dog that hasn’t barked,” suggesting a suspicious silence while mentioning an unnamed woman who allegedly spent “hours” at Epstein’s home with him. Maxwell’s response was brief but loaded: “I have been thinking about that.”
Speculation about the unnamed woman escalated quickly. The White House, through Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, identified her as Virginia Giuffre, a prominent Epstein accuser who tragically passed away earlier this year in Australia. Leavitt called the release a “political smear,” emphasizing that Giuffre had publicly stated Trump was never involved in wrongdoing and describing the interactions as social, not illicit.
