Fatal Encounter Involving ICE Agents and 37-Year-Old Woman Draws Political Reaction From Trump

According to media reports, the woman involved has been identified as Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen from Colorado and mother of three. She was fatally shot by an agent of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. The Department of Homeland Security stated that the woman allegedly attempted to drive toward ICE officers. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said that the woman’s vehicle was blocking traffic on Portland Street. When a federal officer approached, she reportedly tried to leave the scene, and at least two shots were fired. The FBI and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are conducting an investigation.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey told reporters that he is concerned about the actions of ICE officers in the city. “These operations are affecting families and disrupting neighborhoods,” he said. He stressed the importance of a thorough investigation and stated that, in his view, the woman did not appear to be trying to harm anyone. Mayor Frey also criticized federal authorities for characterizing the incident as self-defense, noting that he had viewed video of the encounter.
