Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel may be facing serious consequences after coming under fire from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for remarks he made about Charlie Kirk’s tragic death. According to RadarOnline.com, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has suggested that ABC and Disney could face action for what he described as “misleading the public.”
The controversy began when Kimmel commented on the political affiliations of Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. Kimmel’s remarks, in which he referenced Robinson as a MAGA supporter, quickly went viral and drew widespread attention.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,” Kimmel said on his show, adding that some were trying to score political points from the tragedy.
FCC Response and Potential Consequences
In a podcast interview with Benny Johnson, Chairman Carr criticized Kimmel’s statements, calling them “truly sick” and suggesting they could warrant suspension or other disciplinary measures.
