Flight Incident: Smoke in Cabin Prompts Passenger Response

What started as a routine takeoff quickly turned into a nightmare for passengers aboard a LATAM Airbus A320.

Seatbelts fastened, cabin lights dimmed, engines humming—the flight felt normal. Until it didn’t.

A strange smell filled the cabin. Then smoke appeared.

At first, it was light, almost like fog. But it rapidly thickened, causing coughing, shouting, and frantic button-pressing that no longer mattered.

“LOOK OUT THE WINDOW!” someone shouted.

Flames—bright, intense, and terrifying—erupted beneath the wing.

The plane was still on the runway, engines running. Chaos erupted. Parents clutched their children. Rows of passengers panicked. Flight attendants struggled to maintain control.

Then the captain’s voice cut through the fear:

“EVACUATE. EVACUATE NOW.”
