Fox News’ Peter Doocy, Hillary Vaughn Share ‘SURPRISE’ News After Welcoming New Member That Moves Fans to Tears

The moment her water broke, Vaughn was actually on her way to work at Capitol Hill — an experience she said she was prepared for, even knowing which senators had medical backgrounds just in case help was needed. Fortunately, baby Bridget arrived safely, weighing eight pounds and one ounce.

Photos released show the proud parents cuddling their newborn daughter, dressed in a pink onesie personalized with her name. The new family’s excitement was also shared on social media, where Doocy revealed he had even asked President Joe Biden for parenting advice. The president’s heartfelt response: “Hold her tight.”

Doocy humorously recalled how White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre joked that he should name the baby “Karine,” and he added they also joked about naming her “Joe-sephine.” Ultimately, the couple settled on the name Bridget Blake Doocy.

The couple first revealed they were expecting during a Fox News cooking segment in September. Peter’s father, Steve Doocy—co-host of Fox & Friends—joined in the on-air celebration and later congratulated the pair, calling the arrival of his granddaughter a proud moment.

Bridget is one of several babies born recently to members of the Fox News family. Fox & Friends First co-host Carley Shimkus and her husband Peter Buchignani recently welcomed their son, Brock Edward. Meanwhile, Fox News anchor Kayleigh McEnany and husband Sean Gilmartin celebrated the birth of their second child, Nash, last December.

Steve Doocy shared the joyous news of Bridget’s birth on-air, saying he and his wife, Kathy, are ready to lend a hand so the new parents can get some well-deserved rest.

Congratulations to Peter Doocy and Hillary Vaughn on this exciting new chapter!
