I attended my son Mike’s wedding with a purpose: to talk to him about his mistreatment of his son Tommy and his ex-wife Jane.
Mike had left them shortly after Tommy was born, leaving Jane to care for their child with Down syndrome on her own.
Upon hearing about Mike’s upcoming wedding, I decided to take action.
Entering the church with Tommy in my arms, I halted the ceremony to share the truth about Mike’s past actions.
As I spoke to Mike and his bewildered fiancée, I felt a mix of emotions. I described how Mike had left Tommy, been unfaithful to his ex-wife, and neglected his financial responsibilities for Tommy.
My intention was to teach Mike the importance of being a responsible father, but the outcome was unexpected.
Mike’s bride became furious, threw her bouquet at him, and she and her stunned family quickly left the wedding.
The next day, my cousin Liam informed me about the aftermath. He said that Mike’s fiancée was deeply upset and that Mike was experiencing a whirlwind of emotions in front of the remaining guests.
