ICE Arrests Near One Million as Enforcement Efforts Continue Under Trump Administration

As President Donald Trump’s term nears its conclusion, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is projected to approach nearly one million arrests of undocumented immigrants—a significant number, though slightly below initial expectations set by the administration.

While daily updates on arrest figures are no longer publicly released, ICE remains active. Recent estimates indicate that more than 11,000 arrests have taken place since January 20. As congressional Republicans begin shaping their latest budget proposals, they are calling for increased funding for border enforcement and additional operational resources—measures that could further increase activity in the coming months.

Although border apprehension numbers have declined, internal enforcement operations are expected to intensify. However, the agency faces several logistical and operational challenges, including detention center overcrowding and concerns about the confidentiality of planned actions.
