Emily was settling in for what she thought would be a quiet evening alone. Her fiancé, Jake, was away on a business trip, and their cozy apartment—filled with the comfort of shared routines—felt peaceful. Like every Friday night, she ordered from their favorite pizza place. Pepperoni, extra cheese. Nothing out of the ordinary… or so she thought.
When the doorbell rang, she was greeted by Tom, the familiar delivery driver who had brought them pizza countless times before. But tonight, something felt different. His usual cheerful smile seemed strained, his hands just slightly unsteady.
“Just you tonight?” he asked.
“Yeah, just me,” Emily replied with a smile, not thinking much of it.
She brought the pizza into the kitchen, savoring the familiar scent. But when she opened the box, her evening took an unexpected turn. Written on the inside of the lid in black marker were the words:
“He’s not who you think. Check your door camera.”
Her heart raced. With trembling hands, she grabbed the tablet that controlled their front door camera. What she saw next left her stunned.
