The Redditor married his wife in 1986 after dating her for seven years. They met at a holiday camp in Scotland in 1979 and moved to a small village where his wife grew up. He worked night shifts while his wife stayed home to look after their children. He believed he had the perfect life until he discovered the letters after her death. The letters revealed a long-term correspondence that was a surprise to him.
The man who had written the letters passed away seven years before his wife’s death. He was a family friend who often visited their house.
